Artist’s Statement

I strive to evolve my own soul, and I have often found inspiration in the images I see in my mind’s eye of a horse I call Spirit. He has been my muse since I began seeing him at the age of 12, and I believe he is a spirit guide. He was my original inspiration for creating art, and by doing so, revealed to me a talent I may not have otherwise recognized. Through the years, my art has begun to evolve into a more abstract representation of the essence of the life force within Spirit, as well as other inspiring animal, bird and insect beings who have come across my path. My art is both an expression of their life force, but also the life force that fills us all - the chi running through us, animating our presence. I see this as the elemental being I am striving to become, as I rise through the overpowering belief of the ego as Self. My art is an expression of this elemental part of ourselves, and an inspirational reminder to myself and others of this beauty within.
